Jeremy Weigens

Jeremy, a Montreal native, has been around the city block a few times. Since starting his drumming career at the age of twelve, he has played everything from jazz, blues and funk to ska, reggae, rock and metal in various ensembles and bands, allowing for versatility in his playing and creativeness in his writing. His strengths lie within a nebulous mix of reggae and metal, as his musical aim is to provide a backbone that drives and instills an energy that has but one simple result for the listener: to move up and down or side to side.
He has played in several bands over the years. He recorded and toured for six years with Confusion in Stereo, a group whose sound was a strange and melodic blend of rock, metal and reggae. When CIS called it quits, he formed Speakerton, which leaned more towards reggae, and The God Frequency which emphasized brutal thrash and heavy breakdowns.
Jeremy eventually left the world of metal and to join The Fundamentals, a Montreal feel-good ska band that quickly established themselves as "bringers of the party" and showcased Jeremy as the strongest new drummer on the Montreal ska scene, bringing him to the attention of Stepper.
